Perception Survey

Perception Survey and Analysis

Survey Development and Analysis

In 2017, NCARB conducted research to better understand perceptions and experiences with the organization among licensed architects and licensure candidates, and to inform discussions as NCARB looks to update its strategic plan. A survey was released to over 60,000 current and past customers, receiving an overall 10% response rate from a combination of licensure candidates, certified architects, and non-certified architects.

Where applicable, longitudinal trends were tracked to compare 2017 findings to data from NCARB’s 2011 Architect and Intern Surveys. The data presented has been analyzed in full and segmented according to various demographic factors including licensure status, certification status, role and age, among others.

Results

In comparison with responses to the 2011 NCARB Perception Analysis Survey, NCARB’s perception has improved in recent years, with more respondents providing positive feedback on NCARB’s programs, services, and role in the profession. More than half of respondents agree that NCARB improved its services in recent years, and 54% indicated that NCARB has a positive reputation in the profession at large.
